Hürriyet columnist Ahmet Hakan injured in 'organised assault'

Hürriyet columnist Ahmet Hakan, who has been targeted with politically-motivated threats, was assaulted by four men in front of his home on Thursday morning in what Hürriyet Editor-in-Chief Sedat Ergin called "a planned attack".

Four men driving a black Honda arrived at Hakan's home at 12:35 a.m. on Oct. 1, where they attacked the columnist as he was returning from hosting his programme on private broadcaster CNNTurk.

Police detained three suspects after the assault. Another suspect was detained early Oct. 1.
