PTI announces boycott of joint parliamentary session

Imran Khan
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) will boycott Thursday's joint parliamentary session, party chairman Imran Khan announced today saying that his party will no longer endorse this parliament.

The session was called by the prime minister in the wake of heightened Pakistan-India tensions over the occupied Kashmir and the skirmishes along the border.

Sources said the PTI chairman has also announced to shut down Islamabad at the end of this month. He had earlier stated that his party will shut down Islamabad after Muharram if the institutions do not act to hold PM accountable on the basis of Panama Papers disclosures.

Earlier, Imran also missed a meeting of the parliamentary parties' heads in Islamabad on Monday. PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi represented his party at the key meeting to mull different options and eventually decided to revive the National Security Committee.
